Pune: PMC Completes Preparations For Ganpati Immersions, Health And Safety Needs Checked

Pune, September 3rd, 2022: As the celebrations of Pune Ganeshotsav are growing, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has now started preparations for immersion. From the fifth day onwards, some households and some mandals began the immersion process. The Municipal Corporation has completed preparations for the process.

The administration has prepared the system at 303 immersion sites in 15 regional offices. Stages have also been put up by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) at Alka Talkies Chowk, Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad, Tilak Road, Narayan Peth, Mati Ganapati, Lakdi Bridge, SM Joshi Bridge, and Mandap.

Ambulances, medical teams, mobile toilets, notice boards, and other facilities have been prepared in public places by the Health Department. On behalf of the Municipal Health Department, independent medical officers, pharmacists, auxiliary nurses, junior nurses, nursing orderlies, and drivers have been appointed at Deccan Gymkhana, near Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya, Lakshmi Road, till the end of the procession. At this time, the health department has appealed to use gulal carefully and to use natural colours instead of chemical colours in the procession.

 

 

 

Medicines have been sprayed on the ghats and the procession route. Also, lifeguard teams will be deployed on the ghats. Fire brigade personnel have been deployed at each ghat on behalf of the fire brigade team. Children and senior citizens should stay away from the water bodies on the ghats, rivers or lakes, at this time. If someone is drowning in the water, immediately alert the lifeguard present there. While going by boat, the fire brigade has requested that one should sit in it after estimating the capacity of the boat. If possible, the idol of Ganaraya should be immersed by the lifeguards.
