Pune: PMC Demolishes Over 12,500 Sq Ft of Encroachments on Ferguson College Road

Shivajinagar, 5th June 2025: In a major crackdown on unauthorized constructions, the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Anti-Encroachment Department carried out a large-scale demolition on Ferguson College Road (FC Road) on Thursday. Officials, under the guidance of City Engineer Prashant Waghmare and Superintendent Engineer Rajesh Bankar, deployed bulldozers to clear illegal shops and structures on Plot No. 614B. As a result, encroachments spanning 12,500 square feet were razed.
The civic body has been intensifying its anti-encroachment operations across various parts of Pune over the past several days. FC Road, in particular, has seen repeated unauthorized shop and construction activities, prompting the authorities to conduct similar drives two to three times last month. Despite these efforts, fresh encroachments have surfaced, leading to renewed action.
The latest demolition was executed by the Building Development Department with active participation from Executive Engineer Surendra Karpe, Deputy Engineer Ranjit Mutkule, Kiran Kalashetti, Junior Engineers Mahesh Shinde, Manoj Kumar Mate and Sagar Shinde. The authorities aim to reclaim public space and ensure smooth traffic flow on this busy thoroughfare.
