Pune 5th Sept 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday staged a protest against BJP MLA Nitesh Rane and Mahesh Landage for allegedly using foul language against the civic officers during a protest. The PMC employees participating in the protest condemned the controversial remarks by BJP leaders and said it was wrong on their part to use such a language against the civic officers.

It may be noted that the BJP MLAs had participated in a protest organised against alleged encroachment alongside the Punyeshwar temple in Kasba Peth area. The PMC officials alleged that foul language was used against the city engineer and municipal commissioners in the protest. The civic officials said that the matter for which the protest was organised is pending in the court and the municipal corporation had already issued a stop work order on the alleged construction being carried out near the temple in 2019.

The PMC employees on Tuesday gathered outside the PMC building to register their protest. They also tied black ribbons for the whole day during the duty hours in the Municipal Corporation.
