Pune: PMC Exempts These Categories From COVID Test For Going To Work, Industrial Workers Not On The List; Know Guidelines About Mess, Alcohol Delivery

Pune, 17 April 2021: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a revised order exempting certain categories for undergoing Coronavirus disease (COVID19) test every 15 days for being able to go to their workplace. As the labs are overburdened with samples for the COVID test, the Maharashtra government discontinued the practice for workers.

As per the order issued by PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar, employees of the following establishments are being exempted from testing Covid-19:

  • Home delivery staff of e-commerce companies
  • Home delivery staff and other employees of restaurants, bars and hotels
  • Private transport drivers/owners
  • Staff engaged in printing and distribution of Daily newspapers, periodicals, weeklies, etc.
  • Domestic workers, drivers, cooks, caretaker for senior citizens, nurses/helper for sick persons
  • Those eligible must get vaccinated as soon as possible

Mess: The parcel service of Khanavali (Mess) in the Pune Municipal Corporation area will be open from 7 am to 8 pm on all days.

Alcohol Delivery: Home delivery facilities will be open from 7 am to 6 pm from Monday to Friday as per the rules of the State Excise Department.

Spectacle shops will be open from Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.

In another major decision, the PMC has directed all oxygen-producing companies to supply 100% oxygen for medical purposes only. They have to publish a list of those who use oxygen and supply oxygen.

Also, the shops supplying essential goods to the companies which are allowed by the Government of Maharashtra for the production of essential goods and services may be kept open only for that purpose. They will not be able to do other retail sales.
