Pune: PMC Health Inspector Arrested For Taking Bribe For Allowing Garbage Dumping

Pune, 11th November 2021: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today nabbed two persons, including a health inspector of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 per month for dumping garbage collected by personal tempo at Yerwada garbage Depot.

 

Health Inspector Swapnil Bhagwan Kothavade (32) and Prakash Daulat Waghchaure (56) were arrested. A case has been registered against them at Yerwada police station for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

 

According to police, the complainant collects garbage in the Yerwada area by personal tempo. Health Inspector Kothavade, through the mediation of private person Waghchaure, demanded a Rs 5000 person bribe for allowing him to dump the garbage.

 

Kothavade along with Waghchaure were arrested today while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the complainant.
