Pune 19th Oct 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started taking action against the shopkeepers who are installing bigger sign boards than legally permitted. A total of 75 such shopkeepers have already been punished by the civic body for not following the size norms to install a signboard to woo the customers.

The civic officials have started surveying the signboards across the city in its jurisdiction and the action is being taken against those who are found violating the rules. The action also aims to reduce the defacement of civic areas as some shopkeepers in the city have installed very big size signboards for the advertisement which goes against the rules.

The municipal corporation’s sky sign department has instructed the officials from ward offices to visit the ground to find the violations and take action against the defaulters.
