Pune: PMC Launches Online Permit System for Minor Mineral Transport, Streamlining Construction Sector
Pune, 1st July 2025 In a significant move to ease operations for the construction industry, Pune has introduced an online permit system for minor mineral transport. The Pune Municipal Corporation will now directly link construction permit data to the District Collector’s ‘Mahakhanij’ portal, eliminating the need for repeated applications for mineral transport permits.
This new digital system is expected to save considerable time in the permit process, curb unnecessary visits to government offices, and reduce opportunities for corruption. Importantly, it will enable authorities to monitor unauthorized mineral transport more effectively, thereby preventing revenue loss.
With the integration, detailed records of mineral excavation and the vehicles used for transport will now be maintained online. This will ensure accurate collection of royalties for every project and increase transparency in administration. The system also paves the way for strict action against rule violators, reinforcing regulatory compliance in Pune’s construction sector.
