Pune: PMC Order Ignored? Sinhgad City School Management Booked Over 62 Fresh Admissions
Kondhwa, 11th September 2026: A fraud case has been registered against the management of Sinhgad City School for allegedly shifting the school to a new location without government permission and admitting 62 students to Class 1 despite a Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) order prohibiting fresh admissions.
The case was registered at Kondhwa police station against Maruti Nivrutti Navale (52), founder of the Sinhgad Technical Education Society, and Sunanda Maruti Navale (50), secretary of the society.
The complaint was filed by Shankar Ramchandra Mandave (53), an assistant administrative officer with the education department of the PMC’s Kondhwa-Undri ward office.
According to the police, Sinhgad City School, run by the Sinhgad Technical Education Society, is located in Kondhwa Budruk. The PMC received information that the school had been shifted from its approved premises to another location without obtaining the required government permission.
Following this, the PMC’s primary education department issued a letter to the society on February 12, 2026, directing it not to admit any new students. The management was also instructed to shift the school back to its approved location.
However, the management allegedly continued to operate the school from the new location despite the PMC’s directions.
The PMC later found that the school had admitted 62 students to Class 1 for the 2026-27 academic year. According to the complaint, the parents were not informed that the school had been shifted without government approval or that the PMC had directed the management not to grant fresh admissions.
After the matter came to the education department’s attention, PMC officials approached the police and lodged a complaint. Police have registered the case and are conducting further investigation.
