Pune, 27th September 2022:Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner Vikram Kumar has ordered action against various ‘I love…’ boards that have been erected across multiple locations in Pune.

The PMC has received multiple complaints from citizens regarding these sign boards that have been established by corporators using public funds and no prior permission.

Politicians wishing to contest in the civic polls have also installed similar boards with their names under them.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Kunal Khemnar issued a written order stating, “There are various complaints about these boards from citizens. Citizens are raising these issues repeatedly at various forums. The media has also highlighted them. In this background, the municipal commissioner has asked to carry out an inquiry. It is found that all these boards have been installed without taking the sky signs department’s permission, which is mandatory. The boards are found to be using public electricity supply. After getting the report, the municipal commissioner has asked to take action against all such boards.”

Citizens have stated that these boards are merely posing as an inconvenience and have no other benefits of value. These boards are seen in various populated areas, including Sarasbaug, Katraj, Koregaon park, Mohammadwadi, Swargate, Warje, Aundh, and Yerawada.
