Pune: PMC Orders Pothole Repairs, Drain Cleaning Along Amit Shah’s August 1 Visit Route
Pune, 30th July 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday held a high-level review meeting to assess security arrangements and civic preparedness ahead of the upcoming visit of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah to the city.
The meeting, chaired by PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, reviewed the status of road cleanliness, desilting of drains, drainage systems, pothole repairs, removal of illegal hoardings and action against encroachments across the city, particularly along the minister’s proposed route.
The commissioner directed officials to complete all pending civic works on priority and ensure that sanitation and public amenities along the route and surrounding areas are in place before the visit.
Officials were instructed to immediately repair potholes, undertake effective cleaning of drains and sewer lines, remove unauthorised hoardings and take action against encroachments in accordance with the rules.
The commissioner also stressed the need for coordinated and timely action by all concerned departments to ensure there are no shortcomings in cleanliness, traffic management, road conditions and essential civic services during the Union minister’s visit.
The meeting was attended by Leader of the House Ganesh Bidkar, Additional Municipal Commissioner (General) Pavneet Kaur, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Omprakash Divte, along with deputy commissioners and senior officials from various PMC departments.
