Pune, 5th March 2021: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to stamp the Covid-19 patients as ‘home quarantine’ and pasting the stickers on their houses. As the complete lockdown option is scientifically wrong, the administration decided to take these steps considering the rising number of cases in the city.

“If a housing society has five positive patients, then the wing will be sealed and if the entire society has over 20 patients, then the society will be sealed”, states the new notification issued by the health authorities.

Micro-containment zones will be created to hinder the growth of Corona. Ward officers will be creating and taking actions regarding it, said the notification issued by the PMC.

Additional Municipal Commissioner Rubal Agarwal said, “We will not be sealing the entire area unlike before. But the society, wing or the floor will be sealed. If we find more than five Covid-19 positive patients then that building will be sealed and if more than 20, then the entire society will be sealed.”

How will it be implemented?

The test reports from government and private laboratories are sent to PMC. The local ward office will then contact these patients and the home quarantine stamp will be imprinted on their hands.
