Pune, 5th March 2021: Open Source Software Club of Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune presents the fifth edition of its annual hackathon, INNERVE 5.0 on 6th and 7th March 2021 virtually, informed by Prof Anup Kadam and Student Coordinator Akshay Sharma.

Every year AIT conducts INNERVE, a national level student-driven Hackathon for young budding minds and with the prize money 1 lakh for the first position followed by 50k for the runner-up and with loads of goodies and gifts for participants yearly. Adapting to the situation due to pandemic, the event is organized using an online platform.

INNERVE is one of the most macroscale hackathons where students, developers, communities, and institutions participate to test their expertise in the technical arena and exhibit their astounding real-time ideas. The idea submission round for the hackathon ended on the 28th of Feb, 2021 which is the first phase. The qualified teams get into the implementation round, the second phase of the hackathon, which will take place on 6-7march 2021.

Recently OSS club of AIT Pune completed phase 1 of this one of India’s biggest student-driven hackathons where mass participation was seen from all over India and internationally as well. Around 1000 plus participants registered themselves through platforms like Devfolio etc.

Despite all the problems which aroused during the pandemic, being able to get so many registrations which once seemed impossible is one of the biggest achievements of the club. They not only made it possible but also motivated college students to explore and think about different fresh and creative ideas tackling real-time problems.

While students across India were thinking of different ideas for the hackathon innerve team was thinking of how to make it a fruitful event for all the participants so they came up with innovative ideas for Pre-Inner Events, just before the main event the team organized much different fun and educationally intriguing events for all the participants as well as for the non-participants. During this time it was noticeable that most of the students had queries regarding prototyping and idea pitching, so the Innerve team considered that and invited team “WeCode” from AIT Pune which won around 10 plus hackathons in past 3 years, for a live YouTube session which guided the participants about the hackathon and solved all their piled-up doubts so that they can give their 100% in the competition making it yet another beneficial event for the participants.

This year, the team saw a great response from the industry experts as well. They bagged sponsors from various organizations. These experts are keen to see the bright minds building innovative solutions for the world. The participants will also get a chance to get valuable insights and feedback from these Tech enthusiasts as they will be sharing their knowledge through webinars and Tech Talks that will be conducted during the Hackathon.
