Pune: PMC Takes Action Against Encroachment In Blue Flood Line In Baner

Baner, 12th June 2021: On 26th September 2019, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had ordered to demolish the illegal construction in the blue flood line area in Baner’s S No. 191 to 195. The action was taken in February 2020 on encroachment / unauthorized construction in the blue flood line.

But due to the lockdown action was halted on the remaining unauthorized constructions. Hence, the action was taken on 11th June this year, with the help of three JCBs, two gas cutters, one breaker from the construction development department with the help of 20 contractual workers, three police inspectors from the anti-encroachment department, 18 police personnel and one Assistant Police Inspector and four police personnel from Chatushrungi police station.

It is learned that in this action, the estimated area of 35 constructions is 65000 sq. ft. were removed as well as approximately 8000 sq. ft. was removed from the construction site by the owner.

The action was taken under the guidance of City Engineer Prashant Waghmare, Executive Engineer Yuvraj Deshmukh, and Executive Engineer Shrikant Vaidande.
