Pune : PMC To Allot 3 Acre Plot For Dog Park On Katraj-Kondhwa Road
Pune 10th August 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation has finalised a 3 acre plot on Katraj-Kondhwa road for a dog park. The plot below the flyover has been reserved for the project and the concerned officials have been asked to not allot it for anything else. A proposal to build the dog park here has been already submitted to the Central Zoo Authority (CZA) and an estimated budget of Rs 1 to Rs 5 Crore has also been proposed.
Earlier, the additional commissioner of the municipal corporation had visited the proposed site along with concerned officials last month. The decision to build the dog park in the city was taken on lines of similar parks built in Hyderabad and Mumbai. The civic body aims to provide various facilities here including walkaway for pet owners, poop scoopers and composting pits, amphitheatre, vet clinic for first aid, training center and play area, hair grooming parlour and public awareness stalls regarding pet licence.
The municipal corporation also plans to charge a nominal fee from pet owners and the amount will be spent on the maintenance of the dog park.
