Pune: PMC to Conduct Auction of Seized Properties Despite Previous Delays

Pune, 16th April 16 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to proceed with the auction of approximately 100 properties that were seized last year due to unpaid property taxes, despite delays in the process. The properties, located across various parts of the city, have undergone valuation, but the auction had not yet been conducted.
The PMC’s Property Taxation and Tax Collection Department had previously seized these properties after multiple notices failed to compel the owners to clear their outstanding taxes. Despite repeated reminders, the property owners neglected to settle their dues, prompting the administration to initiate seizure procedures last year. Following the seizure, the properties were appraised, but the auction process was stalled.
Now, PMC authorities are actively working to finalise the auction. Once preparations are complete, the auction date will be announced at least eight days in advance. According to Deputy Commissioner of the Taxation and Tax Department, Pratibha Patil, “The valuation of the seized properties has been completed, and the auction will be conducted soon.”
