After that, five out of 15 ward offices did not give the information despite sending reminders to the assistant commissioner of the ward offices and the deputy commissioner of the zone twice from the Road Department. Therefore, action will be taken by issuing a notice to these assistant commissioners who are disobeying the order.

The municipal corporation had repaired the roads before to avoid potholes in the rainy season. But in the first rainy season, there were many potholes. An order was given to inspect the roads through a third-party organization and submit its report to take action against the contractors.

However, this report was submitted for only 139 DLP roads under the jurisdiction of the Roads Department. It has also been concluded that only 17 roads have more potholes.

The small roads in the alleys of the city are in great disrepair, but since these roads are in the possession of the regional offices, no action has been taken by the head office. After this issue came to the fore, Additional Commissioner Khemnar had ordered on July 28 to send the information about the roads that have been completed in the last three years and are in DLP. After giving this order, 10 out of 15 field offices have submitted the information of roads in one thousand 325 DLP.

“The ward offices had ordered to submit the information of the roads in the DLP worked. But 10 out of 15 offices have given the information. The information will be taken from the 5 offices which did not provide the information, but the reason for the delay in providing the information will also be asked and following this, action will be taken by issuing a show cause notice to the concerned Assistant Commissioner. Such indifference will not be tolerated,” said Dr Kunal Khemanar, Additional Commissioner.
