Pune: PMPML Appeals To Citizens To Not Drive Private Vehicles In BRT Lanes

Pune, 9th November 2021: Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has appealed to the citizens to not drive private vehicles (two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and others) through the designated BRT lanes meant for buses.

Accidents between private vehicles and PMPML buses on the BRT route have occurred many times. However, private vehicles still pass through the BRT lanes meant for PMPML buses. These accidents on BRT lanes lead to serious injuries and loss of life, officials said.

According to PMPML, driving a private vehicle through BRT lanes is punishable by the traffic police. To avoid this action, private vehicles should not run on BRT lanes.

If all the private drivers and PMPML bus drivers follow all the traffic rules strictly, the stress on the police system will be lessened. To avoid traffic jams, pollution, and accidents, the maximum number of passengers should take advantage of PMPML’s BRT bus service, PMPML stated in a press release.
