Pune: PMPML Conductor Arrested For Molesting College Student

Pune, 22nd February 2023: A conductor in a PMPML (Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited) bus molested a college student. The 22-year-old victim was travelling home from college.

After finishing her studies at 7:30 p.m., she boarded a bus to travel to Sahakarnagar from Shaniwarwada. There weren’t many people on the bus at the time. Vishwanath Thakare took advantage of the circumstance and made an unwanted attempt to touch her. The victim was astonished and terrified by Thakare’s actions. She backed away from him but said nothing.

But when her bus arrived at her stop, she rushed up to the door and yelled at the conductor for daring to touch her and putting women in danger in the city. She alighted at her stop and proceeded to the police station in Sahakar Nagar. The bus number and route information were recorded by the police. Within an hour, the offender had been found.

Under interrogation, Thakare confessed to the crime. He claimed that when he saw the woman alone, he was unable to control himself. She questioned whether it was a mistake when he first touched her. But when he touched her again and moved to another seat, she realised what he was doing.
