Pune: PMPML Cuts Bus Pass Rates, Ticket Price Hike Also Cancelled

Pune, 3rd September 2021: In a meeting of the Board of Directors (BoD) on Thursday, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) decided to reduce the rates of daily and monthly bus passes. The new rule will come into effect from September 7.

On the other hand, the decision of the PMPML administration to increase the ticket price has also been cancelled, informed Mayor Muralidhar Mohol. The decision was taken after Mayor Mohol urged them to reduce the pass rate and avoid the price hikes.

 

The meeting of the board of directors of PMPML was held on Thursday, 2nd September. Along with Mayor Mohol, Mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad Mai Dhore, PMC Standing Committee Chairman Hemant Rasane, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Standing Committee Chairman Nitin Landge, PMPML Chairman Laxminarayan Mishra, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil, Director Prakash Dhore were present for the meeting.

Mayor Mohol said, “We want to encourage the residents of Pune to make more use of PMPML for travel in the city. Passengers need to be reassured that PMPML will provide good and affordable services. That is why the Board of Directors agreed for a rate cut.”

New pass rates (in Rs)

Daily normal pass

– In one municipal area (PMC or PCMC): 40

– In both the municipal limits: 50

– Out of municipal limits: 70

Monthly Pass 

– Within one municipal limit: 900

– In both the municipal limits: 1200

– Out of municipal limits: 1400
