Pune: PMPML Earns Income of Rs 1.89 Crore In One Day As 1.3 Million Passengers Travel
Pune, 14th September 2022: The passenger numbers of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) which decreased after the Corona period, are now being restored. For the first time in the last seven years, 13 lakh passengers travelled by PMPML on Monday (12th). Due to this, PMPML got an income of Rs 1.89 crore in a single day. PMPML was hit the most during the Corona period.
While no competent officer was ever given in it, considering the number of breakdowns of buses, passengers turned their march to other private vehicles. In 2015, the average number of people travelling by PMPML was 12 to 13 lakh. After seven years, however, PMPML did not get many passengers. Finally, on Monday, 1.3 lakh passengers travelled by PMPML on a single day. There is hope that PMPML will definitely have better days in the future.
At present, an average of 10 lakh passengers travel through 1,634 PMPs every day. Income from daily, monthly and annual passes also contributes significantly to this income. As the number of PMPML pass holders is also increasing, this is an add-on income. If the income of PMPML is to be sustained like this, it is necessary to pay serious attention to the frequent transfers of officers. The neglect of both the Municipal Corporations along with the State Government should not happen.
