Pune: PMPML To Run Special Bus Services Till 2 AM During Ganeshotsav
Pune, 12th September 2026: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has announced special transport arrangements for devotees visiting Ganeshotsav decorations and pandals across the city. A total of 626 additional buses will be operated between September 14 and 25, with services continuing until 2 am to facilitate late-night travel.
No additional fare will be charged for the special night services. However, the validity of PMPML’s daily passes will continue only until midnight.
The transport authority has also planned alternative bus routes in view of road closures during Ganesh idol arrival and immersion processions. Bus services will be made available from Manpa Bhavan (PMC Main Building), Deccan and Swargate on alternative routes wherever regular routes are affected by traffic restrictions.
Of the 626 additional buses planned during the festival period, 285 buses will be deployed on September 17, 18 and 24, when higher passenger volumes are expected.
PMPML officials have also planned additional services from September 19 to 25, following Gauri immersion, when large numbers of devotees are expected to visit Ganeshotsav decorations across Pune.
Depending on passenger demand, PMPML may extend bus services beyond 2 am, officials said.
Special buses from Metro stations
PMPML will also operate special late-night bus services from major Metro stations to help passengers travelling to Pune from other parts of the city.
Special buses will be available at Ramwadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad and Swargate Metro stations during the night, allowing passengers to continue their journey home after Metro services.
