Pune, 17th February 2025: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has announced plans to establish offices in nine talukas—Bhor, Rajgad (Velhe), Maval, Mulshi, Khed, Haveli, Daund, Purandar, and Shirur—to provide easier access to services for local residents.

The decision was made following the approval of PMRDA’s budget for the 2025-26 financial year, which took place in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. During the meeting, a proposal to commercialize PMRDA’s operations was also approved.

Covering an area of 6,246 square kilometers and encompassing 697 villages, the PMRDA region requires citizens from these talukas to travel to Pune for administrative work.

Recognizing the inconvenience and costs involved, the authority has decided to decentralize its services by setting up local offices, ensuring residents can access necessary facilities without having to visit the main administrative office in Pune.
