Hadapsar, 27th March 2023: Construction projects worth crores of rupees in 23 newly incorporated villages within the boundaries of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) have come to a standstill due to a lack of further permissions.

The development plan made by PMRDA for these villages has not yet received the green signal from the government, leading to delays in granting building permissions. The implementation of the Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations has further added to the problem, halting the process of giving permissions from PMRDA.

Customers who have registered flats in these buildings are facing a delay in their dream of owning a house. The employment of dependent laborers has been impacted, and construction professionals are facing difficulties in providing answers to customers. Although revised permission for building development has been given in 11 villages, draft development plans have been made in 23 villages, and suggestions and objections have been raised. These permissions have been stalled even though they have been sent to the state government for approval.

Builders are now demanding that PMRDA give permission to building developers in the 23 villages under the Unified Development Control and Promotion Regulations, along the lines of the municipality. This would provide relief to both builders and customers who have invested in these projects.
