Pune Police Arrest 22-Year-Old with LSD and MDMA Drugs Worth Rs 4.18 Lakh

Pune, 15th October 2024: A person found in possession of Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) has been arrested by Pune Police. The action was taken by the Anti-Narcotics Cell, which confiscated items worth Rs 4,18,000 in total. The accused has been identified as Tejas Suresh Gopal, 22, a resident of Kothrud and a native of Kerala.

Police Constable Yogesh Mandhare of the Anti-Narcotics Cell was patrolling the area when he noticed Gopal acting suspiciously. Upon questioning and interrogation, drugs were found in his possession. The seized items included LSD and MDMA worth Rs 48,000, 50 MDMA pills valued at Rs 2,00,000, a mobile phone worth Rs 20,000, and a motorcycle worth Rs 1,50,000. A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985 (NDPS).

The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior police officials. The team, led by Police Inspector Sudarshan Gaikwad, included Assistant Police Inspector Nitin Kumar Naik, Police Sub Inspector Digambar Chavan, and Police Constables Yogesh Mandhare, Chetan Gaikwad, Prashant Bomadandi, Sandeep Jadhav, Ravindra Rokade, Mayur Suryawanshi, Uday Rakhse, Disha Khevalkar, Sahil Shaikh, Nitin Jagdale, Nilam Patil, and Dinesh Bastewad.
