Pune Police Arrest Former BJP MP Sanjay Kakade For Connection With Goon Gajanan Marne; Released On Bail By Court

Pune, 21 April 2021: Former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kakade was today arrested by Pune city police Crime Branch for his alleged connection with notorious goon Gajanan Marne.

According to police, after the release of Marne from Taloja Jail, a procession was taken out from Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai to Pune. More than 300 four-wheelers participated in the procession. As the video of the procession went viral on social media, many cases were registered. Some of the luxury cars were also seized. Meanwhile, Marne was arrested on March 6 in Satara district and sent to Yerwada Jail.

Since then, the names of many big people have come to the fore in the procession. Former BJP MP Sanjay Kakade has been arrested by the Crime Branch today for allegedly helping Marne to organise the procession. The social media cell of Pune police had filed the complaint following which an FIR was registered by Bundgarden police station. Many people were found commenting and sharing video posts of the procession on social media.

Kakade was produced before a judicial magistrate court which granted him bail. Adv Vijaysinh Thombre represented Kakade before the court.
