Pune Police Arrest Salesgirl For Stealing Gold Rings From Jewellery Shop

Ganesh Peth, 31st January 2022: The officials from Khadak police station under Pune city police have arrested a salesgirl for allegedly stealing five gold rings worth Rs 1.75 lakh from HP Jewellers shop at Kasturi Chowk in Ganesh Peth, Pune.

Bhumik Rajesh Soni, the owner of the jewellery shop, has lodged the complaint in this regard.

According to police, the accused woman had been working as a salesgirl for the last one and half months. On January 25, she stole five rings while leaving for the day. From the next day, she stopped reporting for work. The owner tried to contact her on her phone number but the number and her address in biodata were incomplete. When he checked the stock, he found five rings missing. CCTV footage showed her stealing the rings.

While investigating the case, policemen Ravi Lokhande and Sandip Talekar came to know that the woman was living in Ambegaon Budruk with her family. After police arrested her, she confessed to the crime.

“We have recovered the rings from her house”, said senior police inspector Shrihari Bahirat, in-charge of Khadak police station.

The investigation team included Inspector (crime) Harshvardhan Gade, Sub-Inspectors Rahul Khandale, Shankar Kumbhare and police personnel Aziz Beg, Sandip Patil, Sandip Talekar, Ravi Lokhande, Vishal Jadhav, Rahul More, Himmat Holkar, Sagar Ghadge, Nitin Jadhav, Mahesh Pawar, Praveen Gavhane and Kiran Shitole.
