Pune Police Arrest Satish Wagh’s Wife, Seek Custody For Further Investigation Into Murder

Pune, 26th December 2024: Hotelier Satish Wagh was kidnapped and murdered in Pune. In a shocking turn of events, his wife, Mohini, has been arrested by Pune Police. It is alleged that she offered a bounty to the accused to have her husband killed. Accused Akshay Javalkar and Mohini Wagh are said to have known each other for 20 years, and both were reportedly plotting Satish Wagh’s murder for several years, according to the police.
The police have sought 5 days of police custody for Mohini Wagh. They told the court that she had given Rs 5 lakh as a bounty to Javalkar. The police have requested custody to investigate the transaction and interrogate both suspects face-to-face to uncover the exact motive behind the murder.
Satish Wagh was the maternal uncle of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) Yogesh Tilekar. Wagh was kidnapped and murdered on 9th December. After being abducted, he was reportedly attacked more than 70 times with a sharp knife. Three weapons were used in the murder, with one weapon found and two still unaccounted for. The police stated that the custody of the accused is crucial as they have been providing misleading information about the location where the weapons were hidden or disposed of.
