Pune Police Arrests Partner of Lifeline Hospital Management Services in Shivajinagar Covid Center Scam
Pune, 1st May 2023: Rajeev Salunkhe has been arrested in connection with the Jumbo Covid Center scam in Shivaji Nagar, Pune. Salunkhe, who is a partner of Sanjay Raut and Sujit Patkar, was arrested by the Pune police.
A case was registered at the Shivaji Nagar Police Station in Pune, and earlier, the Mumbai Police had registered a case against Lifeline Company.
According to BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, three more people involved in the scam are absconding: Hemant Gupta, Sanjay Shah, and Sujit Patkar. He also alleged that former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had given the contract to this bogus company. The scam resulted in the death of three Covid patients.
The Jumbo Covid Center in Shivaji Nagar was set up to provide medical care to Covid-19 patients. However, it was discovered that the hospital was involved in fraudulent activities, such as overbilling and providing poor quality medical care. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are expected to be made.
