Pune: Police Bust Gujarat Brothers Involved in Multiple Thefts in Pimpri Chinchwad, Recover Stolen Jewellery Worth Rs 24 Lakhs

Wakad, 10th March 2023: In a significant achievement, the Wakad Police Station team from the Pimpri Chinchwad police has apprehended two brothers from Gujarat who were absconding after committing multiple thefts in their home state. The police have also recovered stolen jewellery, motorbikes, cash, and other items worth Rs 24.68 lakh. The team was successful in solving 16 cases of burglary in the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (zone 2), Kakasaheb Dole, while addressing a press conference, stated that the investigation commenced after a theft was reported on February 17 from the Kaverinagar police colony where ornaments worth Rs 6.28 lakh were stolen. Following Commissioner of Police Vinaykumar Choubey’s orders to nab the culprits, the team started working on the case using traditional informers and CCTV footage.

After laying traps, the police were able to detain the accused, Lakhan Singh Kripal Singh Sardar (28) and Satpal Singh Kripal Singh Sardar (26), both hailing from Vadnagar in Mehsana district of Gujarat. They were caught in Shindevasti in Ravet.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the two accused had committed a total of 16 burglaries and thefts in Gujarat before absconding. The team was able to solve all of the 16 cases, thanks to their meticulous efforts.

The brothers have been remanded to police custody till March 13 by a judicial magistrate court for further investigation. The investigation team comprised ACP-2 Shrikant Disle, Senior Police Inspector Satyawan Mane, Inspector (Crime) Santosh Patil, Inspector (Crime-2) Santosh Ghadge, Assistant Police Inspector Santosh Patil, Sub-Inspector Sachin Chavan, and police personnel Bibhishan Kanherkar, Babajan Inamdar, Rajendra Kale, Rajendra Marne, Vandu Gire, Sandeep Gawari, Deepak Sable, Swapnil Khetale, Atish Jadhav, Pramod Kadam, Santosh Barge, Deepak Bhosle, Prashant Gilbeel, Atik Sheikh, Vikrant Chavan, Ram Talpe, Ajay Malle, Tatya Shinde, Kaurtey Kharade, Bhaskar Bharti, Saudagar Lamture, Vinayak Gharge, Ramesh Khedkar and Sagar Pandit.
