Pune Police Check Over 2500 Criminals On Record Ahead Of Ganeshotsav And Eid-E-Milad

Pune, 17th September 2023: In the wake of Ganeshotsav and Eid-e-Milad festivals, the Pune Police conducted a midnight raid on criminals in the city. The police took preventive action against the historysheeters by taking action in different parts of the city.

 

The raid was part of a special operation (combing operation) to check the hooligans and take action against the persons who disturb law and order during the festival period. Crime Branch, as well as teams from various police stations participated in the campaign.

 

Out of 2,544 criminals on police record, 717 were found to be living at their original address.

 

The police arrested a goon who was carrying a knife in the limits of zone one. Two persons who were absconding in serious crime were arrested in Zone Two. Both were arrested for possession of illegal weapons.

 

Akshay Suresh Shinde (22) of Mayuri Colony, Handewadi Road, was arrested by the police in connection with the sale of ganja by the anti-narcotics squad. Unit Three of the Crime Branch arrested Aditya Yuvraj Bhalerao (19), Hrithik Dilip Kamble (23), Gaurav Vaman Chavan (23), Ajay Raju Das (19) of Mahatma Phule Vasahat, Sinhagad Road, in Parvati area.

 

The police also inspected the railway station, ST bus stand premises, as well as lodges and hotels in the city. The traffic police blocked and took action against 257 motorists.

 

This action was taken under the guidance of Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik, Additional Commissioner Ramnath Pokle, Ranjan Kumar Sharma, Praveen Kumar Patil, DCPs Amol Zende, Sandeep Singh Gill, Smartana Patil, Suhail Sharma, Shashikant Borate, Vikrant Deshmukh and Vijay Kumar Magar.
