Pune, September 29,2020: Owing to the fact that the crime rate in the city has increased after relaxation in the lockdown, the newly appointed Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has appealed people to check the identity card of any person claiming to be from the health department or Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Recently, a few cases have been registered where robbers have disguised themselves as state health officials and tried to break into the houses. “I am referring to ‘my family, my responsibility’ campaign and Punekars need to take special care”, Gupta told Punekarnews.in.

The police commissioner further said that “the police control room should be called immediately by dialling 100 if you feel anything suspicious. Therefore, citizens should not allow any such person to enter the house”.

The state government has launched the campaign to identify people if they have any Coronavirus disease (COVID19) symptoms. Accordingly, teams from the PMC are surveying every home in Pune.
