Pune Police Constable Nabs Armed Robbers In Kondhwa Who Looted Jeweller

Kondhwa, 11th February 2022: In a daring act, a policeman caught two armed robbers who had looted a jeweller at gunpoint in Kondhwa yesterday night. Policeman Ankush Kengale is being lauded for his bravery. In the last two days, there has been a series of robbers in the Undri, Kondhwa and Wanowrie areas.

Based on the complaint from jeweller Mukesh Tarachand Guglia (50), Kondhwa police station has registered an FIR against Saud Asif Sayyed and Ruhan Khan, both residents of Kondhwa.

According to police, the incident took place around 9.30 pm on Thursday at Arihant Jewellers in Ambedkarnagar locality in Kondhwa. The accused reached the shop and downed the shutter. They threatened the jeweller with a pistol and demanded cash. At that time, only Guglia and one of his staff Shubham were in the shop.

One of the robbers fired one bullet after Guglia refused to give money. Hearing the commotion and gunshot, a crowd had gathered outside the shop. Soon the robbers came out and fled.

Meanwhile, policeman Kengale who was on patrolling duty reached there. He caught hold of the two robbers about 100 meters from the shop but one robber managed to escape. Kengale had overpowered Saud who was armed with the pistol.

After getting information, senior police officers including DCP (Zone) Namrata Patil, ACP Rajendra Galande, Senior Police Inspector Sardar Patil, Police Inspector (Crime) Jagannath Jankar also reached the spot.
