Pune Police Decline to File Case Against Rahul Solapurkar Over Controversial Remarks on Shivaji Maharaj and Dr Ambedkar

Pune, 12th February 2025: Pune City Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar has addressed the controversy surrounding actor Rahul Solapurkar’s contentious statements about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dr B.R. Ambedkar, stating that no criminal case will be filed against the actor at this time.

Kumar confirmed that the police have thoroughly examined both video clips containing Solapurkar’s controversial remarks. After careful review, they found no grounds for filing a criminal case, as the statements did not contain anything deemed objectionable enough to warrant legal action.

CP Amitesh Kumar revealed that Solapurkar has submitted a detailed explanation to the authorities, which has been duly considered. Based on this explanation and their investigation, Kumar stated that there is currently no basis for registering a case against the actor.

Addressing the demands for legal action, Kumar emphasized that the police cannot file a case based solely on public opinion or third-party statements about the incident. He maintained that, as of now, there is insufficient evidence to support criminal charges against Solapurkar.
