Pune: MSEDCL Enhances Power Infrastructure for Smooth Operations During Vijayastambh Shaurya Day Celebrations
Koregaon Bhima, 28th December 2023: As Koregaon Bhima prepares to host lakhs of citizens paying homage to the historic Vijayastambh (Victory Pillar) on Shaurya Day, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has implemented various measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply and enhanced security. In a comprehensive effort, 35 engineers and public servants have been specially appointed to oversee the smooth provision of electricity services during the event.
Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar of MSEDCL conducted an inspection and review of the power supply and security infrastructure in the Vijayastambh area on Thursday (28th). The inspection was attended by Superintendent Engineer Yuvraj Jarag, Executive Engineer Manik Rathod, and Deputy Executive Engineer Vijay Jadhav, among others.
In a bid to fortify power protection in the highly congested Perne area, MSEDCL has installed a state-of-the-art protective netting fence made of fibre-reinforced plastic for seven transformers. With the financial support of Rs.11 lakh 82 thousand from the District Planning Committee, the capacity of two transformers has been increased, and old power lines have been replaced in Perne. Additionally, the repair of 11 distribution boxes in the Vijayastambha area has been completed. To reinforce low-pressure power lines, spacers have been installed at 31 locations. The overall maintenance and safety measures of the electricity system in the area have been successfully implemented.
Further ensuring a seamless power supply, efforts are underway to promptly provide temporary new power connections to various stalls, medical facilities, and other locations at the event venue.
To facilitate the Vijayastambh Manavandana program, 30 volunteers, along with senior engineers and assistant engineers Kailas Kamble and Deepak Babar, have been specially appointed from Wednesday (27th) to Monday (1st). This dedicated team will work towards providing an efficient power supply and excellent customer service during the event, emphasizing MSEDCL’s commitment to ensuring a successful and smooth celebration of Shaurya Day at Vijayastambh.
