Pune Police Get 4-Day Custody of Dance Teacher Accused of Sexually Abusing Students In School

Karve Nagar, 19th December 2024: A dance teacher from a renowned school in Warje Malwadi police station area has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing students, including an 11-year-old boy. The accused teacher’s actions came to light during counseling sessions, revealing a two-year history of obscene behavior.

Two cases have been registered against the teacher, and the court on Wednesday ordered the teacher’s police custody until December 22. An investigation is underway to determine if other students were affected.

According to police, the accused teacher had been training students from class 1 to 5. The school had appointed a counselor to provide guidance to students on appropriate and inappropriate touching. During one such counseling session, the case came to light.

Angry parents confronted the school administration, demanding answers. Taking serious note of the incident, the school promptly dismissed the teacher.

The police have suspected that the teacher may have abused more students and are investigating the matter further. Special Public Prosecutor Nitin Konghe argued that the crime committed by the accused is of a serious nature and requires a thorough investigation.

The court agreed, granting four days of police custody to investigate the matter thoroughly.
