Pune Police Invokes MCOCA Against Gang Which Terrorised People In Warje Malwadi Area

Pune, 30th November 2021: Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta has slapped the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) against notorious criminal Nilesh Gaikwad and 11 members of his gang who have been terrorising people in the Warje Malwadi area.

This is the 61st MCOCA case under the guidance of Police Commissioner Gupta in the last one year.

According to police, on August 8, Nilesh Gaikwad and his accomplices tried to kill Kedar Bhalshankar in a shootout between Shivne crematorium and NDA Road. There are many cases of murder, attempt to murder, assault against the accused persons.

Senior Police Inspector Sunil Jaitapurkar of Uttamnagar police station proposed action under MCOCA through DCP (Zone 3) Pournima Gaikwad to the Additional Commissioner of Police (West Region) Rajendra Dahale, who sanctioned the action.

Accordingly, the MCOCA has been invoked against Nilesh Vijay Gaikwad, Akshay Ravindra Khawale, Hrithik Kailas Ekhande, Vicky alias Hemant Dharma Kale, Mona alias Rameshwar Subhash More, Kartik Sanjay Ingwale, Akshay alias Avadhut Mahesh Yadav (27), Sanket Rajendra Dhen (27), Vikas Kailas Gawad (20), all residents of Warje and Anirush alias Bala Raju Jadhav (24) of Ravet, Arvind Maruti Madkar (30), resident of Warje.
