Pune Police Issue Challans Worth About Rs 93 Crore For Traffic Rules Violations This Year; Over 60% People Fined For ‘Standing’ At Signals

Pune, 15th September 2021: The traffic branch of Pune city police have issued challans for a whopping Rs 93 crore against people found violating traffic rules this year. Over 23 lakh challans have been issued between 1st January and 13th September this year.

However, police have been able to recover only Rs 12 crore fine till now.

 

According to traffic police data, out of 23 lakh challans, 15 lakh were issued based on CCTV cameras footage from various chowks. About 1.35 lakhs challans were issued against towing of the vehicles while seven lakh challans were issued by traffic police staff on duty who caught violators.
