Pune Police Issue Section 144 Order, Appeal People To Go Out At Night For Essential Purpose Only
Pune, 25th December 2021: Pune city police has an order under section 144 (1) (3) of the criminal procedure code (CrPC) restraining gathering of people at night as per directions of the Maharashtra Government to prevent the spread of Omicron variant of Coronavirus.
In his order, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Dr Ravindra Shisve stated that there will be a restriction on the gathering of people between 9 pm to 6 am except those for essential purpose and essential service.
As per the state government’s order, not more than 5 persons will be allowed to gather at any public except specifically mentioned in the order dated 24th December 2021.
Section 144 (1) (3) of CrPC states an order under this section may be directed to a particular individual, or to persons residing in a particular place or area, or to the public generally when frequenting or visiting a particular place or area.
