Pune, 30th December 2024: As the 207th anniversary of the historic Koregaon Bhima Battle approaches, the Pune Police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a safe and peaceful commemoration on January 1, 2025. In a recent video, DCP Nikhil Pingle is seen briefing police teams to remain vigilant and well-prepared for the bandobast (security arrangement) during the event.

The Manavandana Ceremony will take place at the Jaystambh memorial in Perne Phata, where over 10 lakh people are expected to pay homage to the Dalit Mahar soldiers who defeated the Peshwa army on January 1, 1818. The event holds immense significance, symbolizing the victory and sacrifices of these martyrs.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the event and maintain law and order, the Pune City Police, along with other police units from Maharashtra, have organized a robust security plan. Over 6,000 personnel have been deployed, including officers from the Pune Police force and various state units.

The police are focused on managing the large crowds effectively while preventing any untoward incidents. Additional safety measures have been put in place to ensure that the program proceeds without disruption.
