Tulapur, 7th June 2026: Pune Police’s Crime Branch conducted a major late-night raid on an unauthorized party being held at a resort in the Tulapur area under the jurisdiction of Lonikand Police Station, detaining several attendees and seizing liquor, ganja, banned hookah flavours and other materials collectively valued at approximately ₹85 lakh.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gauhar Hasan, police received information about an unauthorized event being organized at the venue. Acting on the tip-off, a team comprising 15 police officers and 65 constables conducted a raid at around 2.30 am on June 7.
During the operation, police found 156 attendees, including 107 men and 49 women. Among them, three individuals were below the legal drinking age of 21 years.
Investigations revealed that the liquor permit issued for the event was valid only until 11.30 pm on June 6. However, the party was allegedly continuing well beyond the permitted time when the Crime Branch team arrived at the venue.
Police recovered approximately three grams of ganja from the premises and seized three cup pots containing ten banned hookah flavours. Liquor worth around ₹9.22 lakh was also found at the venue.
The event, reportedly branded as “Project X”, was being held at a bungalow-style resort in the Tulapur area. Sources said a large number of attendees were young professionals, including individuals working in the IT sector.
Police identified Aiman Sheikh of Blaze Entertainment and Yash Chaudhary of Star Light Entertainment as the principal organizers of the event. Officials are examining their role in obtaining permissions and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The total value of the seized material has been estimated at approximately ₹85 lakh. Further legal action is being initiated against the organizers and others found responsible, police said.
The action was taken under the guidance of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Tejasvi Satpute.
The incident has once again drawn attention to the growing trend of large-scale parties being organized at resorts and private properties on the outskirts of Pune and in areas bordering Pune Rural and Pimpri-Chinchwad jurisdiction, following increased enforcement against violations at hotels and entertainment venues within city limits.
