Pune: Police Save Life Of Individual Attempting Suicide On Facebook Live
Pune, 18th December 2022: Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil showed promptness and guided the police by giving instructions when she received information that an individual was attempting suicide on Facebook Live. The police successfully saved the individual.
Patil instructed Assistant Commissioner of Police (Swargate Division) Sushma Chavan to locate the person who posted on Facebook Live that he was tired of life. Based on this, two teams were formed to search for the individual. Technical analyst Mangesh Borhade investigated the Camp area from a mobile location and dispatched a team there. Meanwhile, the other team was sent to Salisbury Park, the residence of the individual.
When the police were searching the Salisbury Park area, the individual was found sitting on the side of the road, crying. He was brought to Swargate Police Station. Senior Inspector Ashok Indalkar questioned him in confidence and said he decided to take his own life out of depression and loneliness. The individual gave up the idea of suicide and said he got new hope to live life after being counselled by Indalkar.
The individual was safely sent back with his friends.
