Pune Police Seal Local Bar in Mundhwa After Freestyle Fight; Commissioner Warns Hotels and Bars
Koregaon Park, 3rd February 2025: The Pune police have sealed Hotel Local Bar in Mundhwa following a violent clash between two groups that left three youths injured. Taking swift action, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has warned all hotels and bars that any incidents disturbing law and order will result in strict action, including license cancellations.
The brawl took place at 11:15 AM on January 31 at Hotel Local Bar, located in the Kapila Matrix building on ABC Road, Mundhwa. Police Constable Deepak Uttamrao Kadam lodged a complaint at Mundhwa police station, based on which a case has been registered against:

Ritik Suresh Udta (All residents of Malad, Mumbai)
Nitesh Sharma (Resident of Viman Nagar)

According to the police, Rahul, Rohit, and Ritik sustained injuries during the altercation and were sent to Sassoon Hospital for medical treatment. However, they did not return to file a formal complaint.
A video of the freestyle fight went viral on social media, prompting police intervention. Since no one from either group came forward with a complaint, the police visited Hotel Local Bar and reviewed CCTV footage. Investigations revealed that the fight started after a dispute over a video being recorded on a mobile phone. The altercation involved 5 to 6 youths from both groups, leading to a physical brawl.
The police have since registered a case against both groups and alerted the State Excise Department, which has now sealed Hotel Local Bar. Additionally, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Rajkumar Shinde has initiated the process to cancel the hotel’s food license.
In response to the incident, Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has issued a stern warning to all hotels and bars along ABC Chowk to Tadigupta Chowk, stating that any establishment found to be a repeat venue for such disputes will face strict action, including license cancellation.
