Pune Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad Arrests Drug Dealer, Seizes MD Drugs Worth Over Rs 10 Lakh

Pune, 28th June 2023: In a successful operation, the Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Pune Police arrested a person involved in drug trafficking near Roshan Masjid in Bhavani Peth and confiscated 52 grams of MD valued at Rs 10.4 lakh.

 

Police Inspector Sunil Thopte said that the apprehended suspect had been identified as Mujahid Anwar Sheikh, a 25-year-old resident of Bhawani Peth, Pune.

 

During a routine patrol aimed at gathering information related to drug abuse, Police Naik Sahil Shaikh and Police Constable Azim Shaikh received intel about Mujahid Sheikh, a young man who was reportedly planning to sell drugs near Roshan Masjid. Acting on this tip-off, the police set up a trap and conducted a raid, resulting in the arrest of the aforementioned individual. A search revealed the possession of narcotics on the suspect.

 

A case has been registered against the accused under the NDPC Act at Samarth Police Station.
