Pune: Poona College Felicitates Cyclists On World Bicycle Day  

Camp, 5th June 2021: Poona College of Arts, Science and Commerce on Thursday felicitated Pune police Naik Swapnil Garad (Crime Branch), Naik Rupali Shinde (Headquarter), Nazir Shaikh and Siddharth Jadhav on the occasion of World Bicycle Day for using bicycle daily and to create awareness among people on environmental protection. Principal Dr Aftab Anwar Shaikh and Vice-Principal Iqbal Shaikh felicitated them.

In 2018, the United Nations declared June 3 as World Bicycle Day to promote the use of a “simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable means of transportation.”

Speaking on the occasion, Naik Garad urged students and youth to use less fuel to get out of environmental pollution which will lead to an imbalance in the ecology. He observed that the younger generation should effectively ride a bicycle and create awareness of the cycling ecosystem.

Mayuresh Jadhav coordinated the programme
