Vadgaon Maval, 29th December 2023: Allegations of ration shops in Maval taluka supplying poor-quality grains have ignited a wave of discontent. Sanjay Aagle, a resident of Darumbre, received a supply of inferior wheat infested with insects and powder from a local grain shop. The Maval Taluka Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi has called for an inquiry into the matter and swift action against those responsible.

Sanjay Aagle, upon discovering the substandard quality of the supplied wheat, reported the issue to the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi. Office-bearers of the Aghadi then rushed to the office of the Taluka Supply Officer with the contaminated wheat, only to find the office closed due to holidays.

Expressing their discontent, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi leaders, including Taluka President Nitin Oval, District Vice President Santosh Lokhande, Taluka Youth Aghadi President Sandeep Kadam, Vice President Manisha Oval, and Secretary Vrishali Kadam, have demanded an immediate inquiry into the poor-quality food supply in Maval taluka. They questioned whether the inferior supply originated from the government or if it was the result of malpractice by the local shopkeepers. The leaders urged authorities to take strict action against those responsible.

Yashwant Shelar from Jewrewadi has also come forward with a complaint, alleging that his family, consisting of ten members, received rations sufficient for only eight people. Shelar claimed that despite complaints, attention to the issue was not forthcoming. He accused the shopkeepers and the supply department of colluding to the detriment of the residents.

In light of these complaints, the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi has called for a thorough investigation to determine the source of the poor-quality grain supply and to hold accountable those involved, whether it be government officials or local shopkeepers.
