Yerwada, 20th May 2024: In a significant development for the investigation, the preliminary blood test report of the minor boy, whose Porsche collided with a bike in Kalyani Nagar resulting in the deaths of two IT engineers, does not indicate alcohol consumption.

A senior police officer informed Punekar News, “We have received the preliminary report, and it does not indicate alcohol consumption. We are awaiting for the final report.”

According to experts, there are several blood tests that can detect recent alcohol consumption. A blood alcohol concentration (BAC) test, also known as a blood alcohol content test, is commonly used to determine if a person has consumed alcohol recently. This test can detect alcohol in the blood for up to 12 hours after drinking and can quantify the amount of alcohol consumed.

As per the FIR, the incident occurred around 2:30 am on Sunday. The FIR was filed at 8:15 am on the same day, and the accused’s blood sample was collected for alcohol testing. “He may have consumed alcohol around midnight. Therefore, by the time the sample was collected, the alcohol content may have dissipated,” explained an officer.

When contacted, Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said, “The final medical report is awaited.”

Kumar explained, “Two separate tests were conducted—one based on personal appearance, smell, and walking, and the other on a blood sample. The blood samples are being tested at two different facilities to eliminate any possibility of tampering with the reports. We are waiting for the blood sample test results before making any further comments.”

A senior police officer, speaking on the condition of anonymity, added, “The personal appearance test was conducted about eight hours after the accident and it came back negative.”

The accused boy, who is 17 years and eight months old, is the son of builder Vishal Agarwal of Bramha Realty and Infrastructure. The relatives and friends of the two IT engineers yesterday alleged preferential treatment to the accused by officials of Yerwada police station.
