Pune: Porsche, WagonR Drivers Brawl Over Overtaking Near Westin Hotel
Koregaon Park, 23rd June 2025: A minor overtaking dispute escalated into a physical confrontation between two car drivers near Pune’s Westin Hotel on Sunday afternoon, causing brief commotion in the Koregaon Park area. The incident occurred around 2:15 PM and involved drivers of a Porsche and a WagonR.
The individuals involved have been identified as Prem Wadhwani (33), a resident of Hinjawadi, and Nimesh Nagesh Diwan (38), a resident of Wakad. According to police reports, a disagreement erupted after both men allegedly attempted to overtake each other, which quickly turned into a heated argument and then a physical altercation.
Responding swiftly to a call from the scene, Assistant Police Inspector Tapare and a team from Mundhwa Police Station’s marshal squad arrived and brought the situation under control.
A preliminary inquiry by the police confirmed that both drivers engaged in mutual physical assault following the verbal dispute. Both parties have now been summoned to the Mundhwa Police Station to register formal complaints.
Officials stated that the matter is under investigation and appropriate legal action will be taken based on the statements and evidence gathered.
