Pune: Postmaster General Releases Special Cover For Diamond Jubilee Of AFMC Undergraduate Wing

Pune, 4th August 2022: On the occasion of the Diamond Jubilee of the Undergraduate wing of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), established on 4th August 1962, Shri Ramchandra Jaybhaye, Postmaster General, Pune Region, Department of Posts, released a special cover. The Postmaster General handed over the first album, containing the cover, to Surgeon Vice Admiral Rajat Datta, AVSM, SM, VSM, PHS, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services.

Lt Gen Rajshree Ramasethu, Director and Commandant AFMC, Air Vice Marshal Rajesh Vaidya, VSM, Dean and Deputy Commandant, AFMC, Pune (Proponent), and Ms. Simran Kaur, Director of Postal services, graced the occasion. Other officers, Alumni of AFMC, and students were also present.

Shri Ramchandra Jaybhaye conveyed his best wishes to the students on the diamond jubilee of the undergraduate wing and elaborated on various investment products of the Department of Posts. He also spoke about a special product, My Stamp, which is a brand name for personalized sheets of postage stamps.

The special cover “Diamond Jubilee Celebration of AFMC Graduate Wing” will be available for sale at the Philately Bureaus of Pune Head Post Office, Pune City Post Office, and at all Head Post Offices in Ahmednagar, Baramati, Karad, Pandharpur, Satara, Solapur, Shrirampur in Pune Postal Region.
