Pune: Power Outages, Unannounced Load Shedding Affecting Businesses In PCMC Area
Pune, 5th September 2022: The small-scale entrepreneurs of Pimpri-Chinchwad city have been suffering for several months due to continuous power outages, unannounced load shedding, and other ancillary problems. In a meeting organized to take measures in this regard, the entrepreneurs questioned the officials of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
While replying to the problems raised on this occasion, the regional director of MSEDCL ordered the concerned authorities to find a permanent solution to the frequent interruption of power supply, and other problems, in the Bhosari, Akurdi, Nigdi and Pimpri divisions within one month.
On behalf of Pimpri Chinchwad Small Industries Association, a meeting was organized in the presence of Ankush Nale, Regional Director of MSEDCL, to find a permanent solution for the frequent interruption of power supply in the industrial area of the city.
The president of the Small Industries Association, Sandeep Belsare, along with officials like Jayant Kad, Praveen Londhe, Sanjay Vavle, Tatya Sapkal, Suresh Mhetre, entrepreneurs, and MSEDCL officers were present. During this discussion, a demand was mainly made to the regional director that MSEDCL should construct four sub-stations in the industrial area.
In the meeting, some demands were also made on behalf of the small entrepreneurs while presenting the problems. Trimming tree branches obstructing feeders, reducing the sag of feeder wires, replacing damaged parts in feeder pillars and doors, keeping stock of different cable sizes and making them available 24 hours, and providing cable repair vehicles were some of the demands. A new transformer should be installed where necessary. The approved MSEDCL Plan for Pimpri Chinchwad Industrial Division should be implemented and followed up for a new plan. The number of switching stations should be increased. Engineers and staff in the Bhosari department should be increased, and review meetings should be held every month.
Easy instalments of overdue electricity bills should be made to the customers. The underground cable should be laid wherever possible. This includes issues such as giving an idea to the electricity consumer before disconnecting the power supply.
Complaints about MSEDCL’s administration have increased tremendously, stating that no one pays attention to this complaint for two-three days. Measures should be taken in this regard, and efficient officers should be appointed permanently to look after such cases.
On behalf of the entrepreneurs, various demands were presented before the Zonal Director, including that a joint meeting of the Municipality, MSEDCL, and Small Industries Association should be held to solve the problems caused by road digging.
