Pune: Pregnant Woman Murdered in Bhigwan; Husband Arrested After 10 Days
Indapur, 24th October 2025: In a shocking case that has rattled Pune district, police have solved the mystery behind the decomposed body of a pregnant woman found under a stream bridge near Madanwadi village in Indapur taluka. The investigation has revealed that the woman was murdered by her own husband over suspicion of an extramarital affair.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Dipali Sudarshan Jadhav (30), a resident of Katfal in Baramati taluka. Her husband, Sudarshan alias Raviraj Ranjit Jadhav (36), suspected her of infidelity, which led to frequent domestic disputes. On the morning of October 12, 2025, an argument turned violent, and in a fit of rage, Sudarshan allegedly attacked his wife with an iron object, killing her on the spot.
To destroy evidence, the accused reportedly wrapped the body in a blanket, placed it on his Jupiter two-wheeler, and dumped it under a bridge near Madanwadi village on the Bhigwan–Baramati road.
On October 22, Police Patil Nanasaheb Vanve informed authorities after spotting the decomposed body wrapped in a blanket under the bridge.
Police noted that the woman’s skull was fractured, and her identity was later confirmed by a tattoo of the name ‘Raviraj’ on her hand.
The Bhigwan Police Station and Pune Rural Local Crime Branch (LCB) jointly launched an investigation. During this process, officers learned that Sudarshan Jadhav had filed a missing person complaint for his wife at Baramati Police Station on October 12 — the same day of the murder. When investigators found inconsistencies in his statements, he was interrogated further, during which he confessed to the crime.
The accused was arrested and produced before the court, which remanded him to police custody till October 31, 2025.
This investigation was conducted under the supervision of Special Inspector General of Police Sunil Phulari (Kolhapur Range), on the directions of Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, Additional SP Ganesh Biradar, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Madhukar Bhatte. Police Inspector Avinash Shilimkar from the LCB, Sub-Inspector Vinod Mahangade from Bhigwan Police Station, and their team played a key role in solving the case.
